World School Championships: Top Performance from HTL Rankweil

Split - The HTL Rankweil team, supported by Nägele Hoch- und Tiefbau, represented Austria at the ISF Athletics World Championships 2019 in Croatia.

Daniel Bertschler, Martin Bertschler, Clemens Fröhlich, Lino Ritter, Max Schneider and Timo Schett competed in the disciplines relay, 100 m sprint, 110 m hurdles, long jump, high jump and discus. Hubert Winkler coached the students.

The Vorarlberg team was not only the only Austrian team to qualify for this World Cup, but was also the first HTL from our country to do so. As the only technical secondary school on the way to Croatia, teams from schools with a sporting focus were consistently defeated. In addition to the sporting event, the school team of the HTL Rankweil also presented the country and school with a nation stand and stage appearance at a cultural event in the centre of Split.

As the only Austrian team, HTL Rankweil was finally ranked 19th among 29 nations. The victory went to the team from Taipei. Nägele Hoch- und Tiefbau congratulates the HTL Rankweil team on a successful season and a memorable finish.
