Modernisation work at Altach station is in full swing.
ÖBB's new train sets make it necessary to extend the platforms to 220 m. To this end, the bridge over the Riedstraße was extended in recent weeks.
60-t structure raised.
The round structure weighing 60 t had to be raised in the previous week in order to be able to serve as an extension of the platform in the future. In the coming days and weeks, the new section will be asphalted and noise barriers will be installed.
Completion 2021.
At the end of the year, the height of the platforms will also be adjusted to ensure barrier-free access to local trains. The rest of the extension, such as the station forecourt, park-and-ride area, barrier-free underpass and bicycle boxes, is planned for 2020. Until 2021 the modernized train station in Altach will be completed.
